Prerequisites​

  • An AssemblyAI account with transcripts stored in AssemblyAI's US region. The connector only calls https://api.assemblyai.com, so it can't read transcripts from the EU server at api.eu.assemblyai.com.
  • An AssemblyAI API key. Copy it from the AssemblyAI dashboard.

The transcripts stream reads AssemblyAI's list transcripts endpoint, which returns the newest transcripts first. The connector follows page_details.prev_url to read older pages. AssemblyAI only lists transcripts from the last 30 days of usage, so the connector can't sync older transcripts even if start_date is earlier.

The transcript_sentences, paragraphs, and transcript_subtitle streams request data separately for each transcript returned by the transcripts stream. Their uuid primary key isn't an AssemblyAI identifier: the connector sets it to the UTC timestamp at which it reads each record, so the same sentence or paragraph gets a different uuid on every sync.

Despite its legacy name, transcript_subtitle reads the redacted audio endpoint, returning status and redacted_audio_url. Select it only for transcripts with redacted audio available; AssemblyAI retains these files for 24 hours.

Rate limits​

AssemblyAI limits each account to 20,000 HTTP requests per five minutes across all endpoints, and returns HTTP 403 when you exceed it. Because the child streams send requests for each transcript, syncing them for a large number of transcripts uses this limit faster. For details, see AssemblyAI rate limits.

IP allow list​

If you use Airbyte Cloud and your organization restricts access to specific IPs, add the Airbyte Cloud IP addresses to your allow list.
